John Jensen Fish & Mussel Export A / S has a comprehen-sive and approved self-monitoring program. The program aims to ensure quality in all processes from receipt of raw materials to delivery to our customers. We control e.g. such temperature in cold storage, raw materials, finished goods and hygiene.

Mussel Fishing is one of the most controlled fisheries in Denmark. To get permission to fish it must be demonstrated that the mussels and water quality not exceed the limits of algae provided by the authorities.
The week before we want to fish in an area water and meat samples are taken, which will be studied at state approved laboratories.
This process ensures that our customers always receive the best quality mussels.

The mussels are cleaned in UV-filtered fjord water. After sorting and packing the mussels are pick up at our factory and transported in unbroken cold chain for delivery to our customers.

Monitoring of Danish Limfjord oysters are subject to the same requirements from the Ministry of Fisheries applicable to mussel fishery.

For packaging of our products we use only environmentally friendly packaging that is approved for food.

All our packaging comply with the European Packaging Directive.
